– UPDATE # 2 – December 6, 2013: FANTASTlC IMPROVEMENTS in few weeks:

The DJI Phantom 2 Vision Quadcopter is getting Adobe DNG RAW file support for its built-in 14MP camera. The update should be available very soon.

Additionally, DJI will release new firmware in December-January, along with a mobile phone app, with Ground Station capabilities for waypoint editing and autonomous waypoint navigation. This is awesome. Check DJI’s video below!.

This new version of the Phantom includes a fully remote camera controlled via iOS app (Android probably coming soon too) that can record 1080p video and take 14MP stills, and can also tilt. Two different frequency channels are used for the transmitter and camera, so there’s no interference.

You can fully control the camera with your iPhone, which also displays in real time what the camera on the Phantom is recording (in its memory card) with low latency (about 1-2 seconds on your phone).

Very exciting features also include: full control of the camera for video and photography, OSD on smartphones displaying the distance to the quadcopter, battery level, orientation from you and more.
